Geo-Archetype Editor
Visually author geo-spatial archetypes and compose operational templates. Replaces LinkEHR with domain-specific tooling — export to ADL 1.4 or OPT XML.
OPTaaS REST API
Operational Templates as a Service. Upload OPTs, generate RM skeletons, ingest and query observations via the fully documented OpenAPI interface.
Observation Dashboard
Live visualisation of ingested sensor observations from the two thesis evaluation scenarios: Limerick City Air Quality and North Sea Ocean Observing.
RDF Explorer
Semantic search and interactive graph traversal over the linked-data store. Query observations with SPARQL, then explore the RDF graph by following predicates through the TDB2 named-graph store.
Station Map
Visualise observation stations on an interactive geo-spatial map. Click a station to view its name and operational status; unlocated devices are listed in the sidebar panel.
Device Management
Three-state device lifecycle: GREY (known) → BLUE (registered with template, receives JSON-LD micro-context) → GREEN (actively observing). Closes the sensor data path end-to-end.
Framework Architecture
Archetype Model
Domain experts define volatile geo-domain concepts using ADL archetypes and compose them into Operational Templates (OPTs).
Reference Model
Augmented ISO/OGC O&M standard: GeoData_Document → Composition → Observation_Set → Observation hierarchy.
OPTaaS Services
REST API generates RM skeletons from OPTs, validates and persists observations, and exposes query endpoints for downstream consumers.
Editor & Dashboard
Browser-based archetype editor closes the authoring loop; observation dashboard demonstrates data ingestion from real evaluation scenarios.
Evaluation Scenarios
Limerick City Air Quality
SensorThings API entities mapped as archetypes on the augmented O&M RM. Multi-sensor urban air quality monitoring (Nov 2016).
North Sea Ocean Observing
Chlorophyll-a hindcasting using GAM models. Historical dataset harmonisation from oceanSITES and Cefas SmartBuoy (Summer 2015).
